I have been job searching for quite a while.

I finally get a job offer and it's a quota job for Greenpeace. I basically will have to get people to give money to Greenpeace. At first I thought I'd be okay with trying this job, but last month my neighbor's wife lost her job and we just found out that he lost his job now, too. Now I'm even less sure.

It's one thing to ask people to buy something they can use indefinitely. It's another thing entirely to ask them to have to make continuous donations to something that's intangible. Yes, it's an investment in the future of our planet (because of Greenpeace, CFCs were banned in the US), but there are not a lot of people who are worrying about that right now.

Plus it's six hours a day, five days a week, outside in the sun and heat, asking people to donate money. No shade. No protection from the rain. How about water and sunscreen? I think I'll try still, but I won't feel guilty if I don't succeed. And I'll yell at them if they suggest hitting up neighbors. "Hell no! What the hell is wrong with you?? My neighbors are losing their jobs and having to take out loans on the equity on their house!"

I spent hours today running around trying to find a job. Most places just said they weren't hiring. I drove about 45 miles today and only put in three applications.

I've also applied for Best Buy.

I've also applied for a part time receptionist job at a place in town that's under the city. This requires handling tickets, answering phones, answering questions about shows hosted by the city, and requires some computer skills. This is my IDEAL temporary job for now. PLEASE pray for me that I get hired for this.
