Dean is warm, sated, and worn out, totally asleep when Castiel steps out of their shared bedroom, pulling Dean's robe tight around himself. But despite the exhausting day, Castiel's weakened grace, and their bedroom activities (Dean had been so blessedly thorough in showing Castiel just how much he loves him, too), Castiel finds he is unable to relax enough to join him. It's frustrating, but for the hour of the night, Castiel comes to the conclusion that his only possible solution is coffee as he heads into the kitchen, only to come screeching to a halt.
Mary is sitting at the table, holding her own cup of coffee and reading some nondescript
I dread the return to work after the snows
My joints are screaming at me
An agonizing mess
Yes, more than usual
For they always plague me
That's the curse I bear
Right down to the core of my DNA, of course.
They watch me as I ease myself down into a chair
Of course I could stand,
But then again,
My knees protest the thought in stabbing choruses of aches
So the clumsy descent it is,
But worse again on the attempted rise when it's time to leave.
"What's wrong with you?"
"Oh, the cold's getting to me and making everything hurt."
"But you're too young!"
You can't even see that those words are more of an icy slap to me
Than the plunging tem
Chris bit back a harsh swear word, her ankle aching as she limped behind the naga and the two men, herding them into a cramped hotel room of questionable cleanliness. The young naga shot under the bed and the two men sat heavily on the edge of the bed, glancing from the room back to the girl who had brought them here, looking a little doubtful about the idea of being there. Chris shut the door behind them, and she paused to put her foot up on a chair to check the extent of the damage, hissing in pain. Claw marks raked across the skin, but they weren't deep.
"Are you okay?" Sam asked, and Chris nodded.
"I'll live," she muttered.
The Winches

The little blond naga hid in the back of the cavern, shivering and shaking in the cool wet air of the cave behind the falls. He sniffled and hugged himself, scared and alone.
He cries in the corner where nobody sees
He's the kid with the story no one would believe
The snake tail was the dead-giveaway that he was not a normal creature, but no one even gave him the chance to prove he was a gentle child. They simply attacked without knowing Sauric was an intelligent, sentient being. It hurt him to know this, even more than the bullet wound stinging in his chest he was thankful for his serpentine anatomy, or the shot would have been fatal
As of late, it seems I've trimmed down my character list even more than I previously had.
Ancient Arabia/Egypt 'verse:

Dimitri Shaska (vampire mage)
Illya Shaska/Mordrak (vampire mage)
Sauric Cyrea/Richard Shaska (shaeshifting naga)
Christine Ivanova (human)
Usually Dimitri is my dominant character, but I've branched out into a high school 'verse for Sauric because he is a scholar at heart and desperately wants to be social where he spends most of his time as Richard Shaska instead, the adopted son of Christine and Dimitri. I am developi
